Summer Opportunities at YCSD!

Summer programming at YCSD is an opportunity for scholars to help with transitioning to the next grade level, earn credit recovery, and participate in enrichment activities that promote learning.

For Elementary Schoolers K and 3

Current Kindergarten Scholars June 11-July 18

Summer programming for current Kindergarten scholars who will be going into the first grade. This reading adventure camp will be fun and get those scholars ready for 1st grade!

Current 3rd Grade Scholars Invitation only June 11-July 18

Summer programming for 3rd grade scholars is by invitation only. This summer camp will focus on assisting scholars who have not yet met the 3rd grade reading gaurantee.

For Middle Schoolers in Grades 6-8

6-8 Grade Middle School Summer Camp: June 11-July 3

Why Come to Camp? This isn't a typical school...

You’ll get to be a chef, music artist, writer, money manager, survivalist, overcomer, and creative writer!

For High Schoolers in Grades 9-12

9-12 Grade High School Credit Recovery at Chaney and East: June 11-July 3

Summer programming for high school allows scholars who have previously failed a course the opportunity to recover credit that is required for graduation.

For our ESOL Scholars OCCHA Summer

Serving ESOL scholars who are between the ages of 5 and 12 : July 7-July 31

Summer programming will have daily activities, language enhancement, field trips, and cultural enrichment!

Elementary Summer School

Elementary Summer Camp 2025

  • Dates Time: June 11-July 18, M-F, 8:30-12:30

  • Who: Currently enrolled Kindergarten scholars who are going to 1st grade in the 25-26 school year

  • Description: Summer Reading Adventure Camp

  • Where: Voleny Elementary, 310 Schenley Ave

  • Transportation: District transportation (yellow bus); Bus riders in grades K-8 will receive transportation if they are in more than a two-mile walk zone
