Communications and Public Relations
Media and Interview Requests
Youngstown City School District understands the necessity of timeliness for information required for a news story concerning the district. Any member of the media must direct requests to the Office of Communications and Public Relations. Our priority is always to convey clear communications. However, the department does not offer information in accordance with the law that violates a scholar's or a staff member's privacy.
Website Accessibility
Website Accessibility Statement
The Youngstown City School District (YCSD) is dedicated to providing digital accessibility for all members of our local and extended learning community. Our goal is to create an inclusive website experience that is accessible to everyone, including individuals with visual, hearing, cognitive, or motor disabilities.
Our Commitment & Standards
We continually enhance the user experience for all and actively align our web content with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Document and Media Formats
Most pages on our website are provided in standard HTML, ensuring full compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
PDF Documents: Some resources and forms are offered in Adobe PDF format. While we strive to ensure all new PDFs are fully optimized for accessibility, some older documents may require a PDF reader. We are actively transitioning these files to more accessible digital formats.
Accessibility Support and Feedback
If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have difficulty accessing any page, document, or feature on our site, please let us know so we can address the issue.
Email our team at ycs.communications@youngstown.k12.oh.us with the specific web address (URL) and a brief description of the issue you encountered. We will provide the information in an alternative format as quickly as possible.
Flyer Distribution
Requests to distribute non-district flyers are referred to the Communications and Public Relations department. The request form, and more information are available via /o/ycsd/page/flyer.
Visual Standards
Youngstown City School District brand guidelines reflect who we are as a district. They are visual standards with colors, typefaces, and logos that aid us in conveying our values and story.
The brand guidelines provide a cohesive structure to utilize when developing or creating anything on the district’s behalf. The guide is broken into sections that give an overview of the why, what, and how visual standards should be employed. Questions about the guide can be directed to the Office of Communications and Public Relations. Any use of logos outside of YCSD cannot be used unless there is permission from the district.
