SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

9-3-19

Labor Day Weekend is a sure sign that the summer has ended. Our scholars and their teachers have settled into a new school year. It always amazes me how the children grow and change in so many ways when they return to school after summer vacation.

Family and school represent the primary environments in which our young children grow and develop, and at Harding Elementary, we value your parental involvement. The foundation for good parent-teacher relationships includes frequent and open communication, mutual respect, and a clear understanding of what is best for each individual scholar. We will host our Open House on Thursday September 5, 2018 from 4-6. I invite and encourage you to come and visit our school.

PTA

Please join our PTA we have a lot of great ideas we would like to put in place and would love to have you apart of our team! Membership papers will be sent home, please sign and return it. We look forward to working with you!

The first couple weeks of school were spent setting up routines and expectations. As a school, we will be addressing our CHAMPS/ PBIS expectations and the 24 Character Strengths and rewarding students who exemplify these traits.

We have been working with the 24. Character Strengths lessons to ensure safe, responsible and respectful learners. Whether we are in the classroom, in the halls, in the cafeteria, outside at recess, or in another area of the school, we have spent time reviewing our school's expectations and how it should look and sound to be appropriate in our school. We know when students are not feeling safe, no learning can occur. Be sure to ask your child or children how they are being safe, respectful and responsible at school. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe at school!

Sincerely,

Teri J.Coward

Principal
